On January 17, Beijing ZEHO Waterfront Ecological Environment Treatment Co., Ltd. (ZEHO ECO) and the Third Institute of Oceanography (TIO) of the Ministry of Natural Resources signed the Marine Ecological Protection and Restoration Laboratory Joint Construction Agreement.
According to the Agreement, the two parties will cooperate in the research and development of ecological renovation of seawalls, ecological renovation and restoration of beaches, ecological restoration of estuaries, marine ecosystem protection and biodiversity enhancement, mangrove, salt marsh wetlands, coral reefs and other ecosystems, jointly organize the application and implementation of major scientific and technological projects and topics, jointly formulate laboratory development plans, jointly build teams, jointly cultivate talents, and jointly publish academic achievements, Among them, the third Institute of Oceanology is the supporting unit, and Zhenghe ecology is the co construction unit. During the co-construction period, the TIO will provide technical support for engineering projects related to Zhenghe ecology and laboratory technology, and ZEHO ECO will also rely on project practice to help transform and implement scientific research achievements in cooperation.
In the future, the two parties will take the joint construction of laboratories as an opportunity to closely follow China’s strategic goal of accelerating the development of a maritime power during the “14th five-year plan”, integrate their respective resources in technology and regional markets, complement each other’s advantages and share resources, jointly build a win-win situation in coastal waters governance, and jointly promote the development of marine carbon sinks to open a new space.
